Review: Black Sheep Bistro, Gold Coast

Located in the outer suburbs of the Gold Coast, Black Sheep Bistro is a nice surprise. If it’s anything to show, the local Pirates of the Caribbean crew and a local V8 super car driver are popping in for a feed regularly. They must be doing well?

Located on the west service road between Oxenford and Helensvale, Black Sheep Bistro manages to attract what is often a busy crowd. Quite often a wait is needed for a table or stool to enjoy your meal, which may I say lets me walk away very full. If a $9 Bacon and Egg Burger isn’t enough for you then the $18 Green Eggs is the way to go, served on a big slice of toasted ciabatta, lays a ham steak topped with poached eggs lathered in a pesto hollandaise.

This is my  go to meal when here for breakfast. For lunch a must try is the Pulled Pork burger with fresh Coleslaw priced at  $10 or try the $19 Gorgonzola Gnocchi which looks delicious. Very reasonably priced with high quality local produce, the effort to open a place like this would give you a lot of pride. Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach are no longer the places for simple and passionate food as good as this is. A must try Hip Bistro in Oxenford. Not what you expect. Trust me.

Also Open for Dinner Friday and Saturday.

Highlights:

  • Open Kitchen
  • Laid back feel inside and out
  • Value for Money and portion size
  • SSS ( Spiced Strawberry Spider) a must try drink for something different
